Victor Yanovsky; elected the Academy full member in 1999 at the Industry Dept. (Machine Engineering and Enrepreneurship). Born on January 14, 1947 in Kyiv, Ukrainian. Graduate from: the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (1971), advanced courses of the Moscow Academy of Foreign Trade (1984), and the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade (2004). Master of International Economy. Being full-staff member of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1971 Mr. Yanovsky had been working as consultant, director for external relations until 1978 when he was elected Vice-President, in 2001 elected First Vice-President and Secretary General of the Chamber. Supervises the Chamber international economic relations, business support activities, goods inspection, public relations and links with the Chamber member companies. Mr. Yanovsky is one of the founders of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Business Council (1991), GUAM Business Council (2003), Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres), member of scores of bilateral intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation. Mr. Yanovsky took part in elaborating and signing cooperation agreements of the Ukrainian CCI with the chambers and other partner organizations from over 60 countries worldwide. For many years running had been engaged in exhibition activities of Ukraine abroad, i.e. in the USA, Hungary, Algeria, Argentina, Japan; by appointment of the Government acted as coordinator of the international investment conference (1996), BSEC-MERCOSUR investment economic forum in Kyiv (1997), BSEC international economic forum in Yalta (2000), project manager of the TACIS supported Business Communication Center (1993-1994), Ukrainian CCI integration into the world chamber network through TRANSFORM Program (1994-2000). Main scientific activities: development of the market culture system; Ukrainian business information strategy. Co-author of the history essay “The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: the Past, Present and Future” (2000), brochure “Doing Business in Ukraine” (1999), Ukrainian chapter of the market survey titled “Competitiveness of C.I.S. Companies” issued by Eurochambres in 2005, grounds for Euro Info Correspondence Center at the Ukrainian CCI under contract with the European Commission (2005). Awards: the Diploma of Honour of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2001), Public Recognition Order Sign of Honour, 3rd Degree (2003). Hobby: music, sports.
